| A good resource, but not my definition of holistic, December 11, 2011 |

I was frustrated with a good portion of this book. The natural diet is heavy on grains, treatment recommendations for various conditions were based largely on allopathic drugs, and I found their recommended vaccine schedule to be extremely heavy.
However, there were parts of this book that I found extremely helpful and valuable. The section on understanding bloodwork was fantastic. They included a very nice section describing different homeopathic remedies, and included visual charts for homeopathy, chiropractic, and iridology that were very interesting.
For those that do choose to use their diet, the recipes and feeding instructions were very thorough.
While I did not find this book to be quite as 'holistic' as I had hoped, it did have some excellent information, and makes a nice resource on many of the things it covers. |

| This book should be required reading for every dog owner. My dog had liver cancer and after surgery at MSU was supposed to live only 6 weeks. He lived 2 years and 2 months past what he was supposed to eating the BARF diet and raw bones and doing things holistically!!! Every dog owner should have this as their dog's bible!!! Outstanding book!!! |

This is the best book I have read on holistic diet and medicine. I have given it as gifts to friends and even my Vet. who also pratices holistic medicine. I have solved many a health problen thanks to the knoledge I gained from Wendy Volhard & Kerry Brown.
