Expanded Description:
One by one, the top Iditarod contestants are dying in bizarre and gruesome ways--and Jessie Arnold, Alaska's premier female "musher," may be next. Sergeant Alex Jensen is determined to track down the murderer before more innocent blood stains the snow. But the hunt will lead the dedicated State Trooper into the frozen heart of the wild--where merciless nature can kill as fast as a bullet... and only the Arctic night can hear your final screams. Sort of a gruesome mystery, but lots of really good background material--dog sled races, dogs, the Iditarod, etc.

| Read it in March!, January 19, 2009 |
| Reviewer: Stevie Mathre |
A good DOG mystery -- read it the first couple weeks in March and follow the coverage of the Iditerod. I did that, reading up to each checkpoint as the real teams were at those places, and it came alive with icy crystals in the air, chilling winds, loneliness...
Honestly, the story was so gripping it was hard to pace myself. I wanted to stay up all night to finish it. |
