Puppy Power! is the first step on the road to success with a new puppy in your chosen canine sport(s). Be proactive with your young dog's fitness program and decrease the likelihood of injuries while giving your puppy a head start on the competition. Puppy Power! exercises will improve your puppy's balance, spacial awareness and core strength—without undue stress on a growing puppy's ligaments, tendons and joints. Performing these activities will boost your puppy's self confidence. With this DVD you can develop a goal-oriented program tailored for your puppy's unique needs.
This DVD demonstrates 15 basic, 17 intermediate, 11 advanced exercises and includes instruction in the use of the latest training equipment. Work with your puppy from the time you bring him home. 5- or 10-minute sessions three or four times a week will start your puppy on the road to a lifetime of healthy fun!
Petra Ford, P.T., CCRT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist)
Petra graduated from UMDNJ School of Health Related Professions with a degree in physical therapy and has worked with an extremely varied caseload including pediatric through geriatric clients with a large variety of diagnosis. Her areas of expertise include in-patient rehabilitation, orthopedics and neurology. With a strong background in physical fitness and training, Petra raced bicycles at the professional level and participated in international events. Currently, she is an avid runner and practices yoga. Petra has always loved animals and started training dogs in 2002. She has trained one of her Labrador Retrievers for agility, as well as trained and trialed two of her Labs in field work and obedience. Her black Labrador Retriever, Tyler, has the distinction of being the 2008 and 2009 National Obedience Champion and placing second in the 2010 World Obedience Championship at Crufts (go to the Aqua Dog website and click on Tyler’s picture to read about his conditioning program for the National Obedience Invitational!). Petra combined all of her passions (dogs, fitness and physical therapy) into one—canine rehabilitation and fitness. Petra attended the Canine Rehabilitation Institute(www.caninerehabinstitute.com) and is a certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist.
Kristine A. Conway, D.V.M.
Kristine graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989 and has been practicing at Hodes Veterinary Group for 16 years. In 2006, while swimming her dogs, her interest in canine rehabilitation was piqued. Kristine’s clients, looking for alternatives to drugs to improve their pets’ quality of life, further motivated her to seek an education in canine rehabilitation. She attended the University of Tennessee’s fast track program for canine rehabilitation in July, 2007. Shortly thereafter, she opened Aqua Dog Rehabilitation, LLC with Petra. In her spare time, Kristine enjoys hiking, mountain biking, running and swimming with her dogs to keep them in optimum shape for obedience, agility and schutzhund. Kris’ dogs work hard at keeping her well trained.
