A Must For Any Dog Lover, January 3, 2009
Reviewer: John Buddie
This book is an absolute 'must' for anyone who is serious about breeding, exhibiting, competing, or merely enjoying dogs. I would recommend this book to all my puppy customers, as well as friends who are involved in conformation showing, obedience, agility, ad intinitum.
Stressing the importance of 'oneness' and bonding with dogs, Ms. Laurence takes the reader on an in depth journey into the merging of the canine and human mind.
With enthusiastic and powerful insights into the canine mind, the reader is taught how to anticipate responses and gear their training methods to meet the desired outcomes. A concise and functional methodology is clearly defined so that trainers old and new come away with a greater understanding of their purpose, strategies and outcome.
Written in easy to ready language, the reader can mentally prepare for the exercises offered, thereby creating a session of preplanning simply by reading the book.
Most importantly, the book accentuates the notion and concept of having fun with your animal as both of you learn more about each other, while going through the learning games! |

Creative and enjoyable, October 7, 2008
Reviewer: Leann Harris
One of my biggest problems is coming up with 'what to train next'. Reading this book is like discovering a jackpot of things to train- with unique cues! Not only is every single exercise broken down and you're shown how to train it, but she includes cues that are easy to remember and are different enough not to be confused with something else. I haven't even gotten through half the exercises in this book and my dogs pay more attention to me and offer more behaviors. I would call this book 'freeing' for dogs since they learn they will be rewarded for so many different behaviors that they then look at you with bright eyes and ask 'can we play???!!!'
