Covers many of the challenges of new puppies using positive methods. Includes detail procedures for: Proper exchanges for objects, rules of tug, leadership through non confrontational control of resources, housebreaking, games and more.
The only thing I take exception to is the recommendation of 6 weeks for taking a puppy home (p.16). I think most evidence now points to around 8 weeks but otherwise I think Gwen is spot on. This would be a good compliment to Dunbar's 'Before and After Getting Your Puppy' (which I also like a lot). |
