| Very Good, July 14, 2011 |

| Simple but still very interesting book. It's short but you get a lot of info. It's a good book if you want to understand how to be 'authoritative' in a positive way. I also like that it suggests how and when you can relax the discipline, so you can be consistent without being too strict. |

Forget Cesar Millan. This is the way to do it! Everybody wins, no one gets hurt, and life becomes easier and more peaceful.
Some of this material I already knew, especially regarding what is sometimes referred to as 'No Free Lunch' or 'Nothing in Life is Free.' But I'm now using 'body blocks' with considerable success to teach one of my dogs that he gets nowhere by pawing at me for attention -- as Trisha McConnell points out, just pushing him away or trying to ignore him doesn't work.
Buy this little book. If you're like me, you'll need to read it over and over for it all to really sink in, so keep it close at hand. |
