“Now I’ll be honest, I’ve always thought clicker training to be something I had no desire or drive for. I’ve done obedience training (not for competition, but for good manners) since I was a preteen—how I trained worked, so why learn another style of training? So the opportunity to review this book was one I felt I should take advantage of. I wanted insight to see what this was really all about. The book starts with giving the reader a bit of history of clicker training as well as explaining the advantages to use it. It is written in layman's terms and quite understandable and while reading it, since I have two very young pups here, I thought “What the heck, let’s give this a try!” I must admit that ALL of my dogs’ now rush to me if they see me reaching for the clicker. It works! This book gives effective, building-block style instructions. Beneficial to any animal owner looking for ways to train for that well-behaved companion to that high-level competition dog or one who does those amusing tricks we all enjoy.”

| I have found this book very helpful. It is well organized and the text is simple enough for a beginner (like me) to read it. The index of behaviors is a GREAT way to find things. So if you are just looking for one certain behavior ,flip to the back and bam! There it is! The resources the book lists are all up to date ! Wonderful bood I'd recommend it to anyone that does clicker training or wants to! |

| This is a great book for beginning trainers and more advanced ones as well. In even includes a terrific glossary for those who want a better understanding of the terminology. |
