Recommend for New Adopters, December 11, 2008
Reviewer: Susan Fishbein
I regularly recommend this book for people who are adopting a dog from our rescue organization. This book has clear, concise training exercises laid out by week so that the reader, if following them, can achieve results quickly and learn to have fun with their dog. It doesn't require the reader to fully comprehend and synthesize the material and develop their own training strategies, which the vast majority of pet owners are ill-equipped to do.

I also especially like the description of Miller's epiphany that changed her training methodologies from 'old school' to positive-reward methods. I think it's a story that hits a nerve with most dog trainers and pet owners.

Really Good Book, August 9, 2008
Reviewer: Crystal Saling
This book is for everyone- dog owners, vets, and trainers alike. Though it might get a little technical for the lay-person, I don't think I've ever read any trainer jargon defined in such easy to understand terms. I really, really, really loved this book.
