Great for Dog Professonals, January 10, 2008
Reviewer: Cheryl Schaeffer
While this book may be very interesting to owners with aggressive dogs, I think this is even more important to people who work with dogs such as shelter staff, rescue workers and trainers.

I've found this book very well written and easy to understand. It gives incredible insight into the less attractive side of some dogs and how to work with the behaviors. Definitely should be a reference in so many facilities.

good for trainers not for owners, September 14, 2006
Reviewer: ZKV
very good book for trainers that already understand enough to make their own choices - I wouls be afraid of a accident or worsening situation with a owner that just copies from the book because agression is serious and dogs vary so much it is hard to write instructions that will work for all. To continue on the review of the person who said it is really sad that she instructs to use a halti and pull down the dog to a down, and that he might bite, I agree with the review: I would not do it, as I also hate using head halters-especially for dogs who are agressive because of handling (just flat collar +muzzle if needed). I wish there would be more nuances to this technique.
My favorite part of the book are the teaching of nice intros to other dogs, very useful and works well!

New Trainer MUST have!, September 6, 2006
Reviewer: EC
This has been a valuable guide for me as a new trainer. It covers so much more than what the title says. I find that I am constantly going back and rereading sections as new challanges come my way
