Excellent resource for the positive trainer!, April 11, 2005
Reviewer: Wesley Anderson
I bought this video and Pam's 'CAMP R.E.W.A.R.D. FOR AGGRESSIVE DOGS DVD' at the same time. I really like both. This was shot live so it is not as polished as a 'produced' video (some audience questions were hard to hear and the camera was sometimes in the wrong spot). That said, I think this is an excellent resource for the clicker and positive method trainer. She handles some spontaneous aggression issues which make some excellent examples of how to handle these events in the middle of a training class. I liked her approach to teaching off leash healing, but I thought her method for stay would be better by just extending time with variable reinforcement(on the sit or down)...I'm one who believes 'stay' is redundant in the 'sit' and 'down'. Pam also comes across as very honest in her presentation. If she 'cheats' a little to speed up a demo she says so and if there is something she is not sure on she tells you that too... which I find very refreshing!
