Leash laws, suburban life, and inadequate socialization can lead to awkward negotiations between dogs, as they try to figure out how to react to one another. Though we inept human beings can never hope to teach some of the subtle greeting behaviors that dogs SHOULD know, we can help with some of the gross motor movement. In this discussion, we talk about what dogs should be saying to other dogs, and what they are saying , and what owners can and cannot do about it.
