MUST READ, October 28, 2008
Reviewer: Terry Simpson
'Be The Pack Leader' is wonderful! It doesn't say much about dog handling, but it says a lot about how to convince your dog, calmly, assertively (but not aggressively), and humanely that you're actually the one in charge, not him. It talks about exercise, discipline, and affection; rules, boundaries, limitations, practice, persistence, and patience. Only people who might be against Cesar on the basis of rumors and rhetoric, who haven't seen his shows regularly or watched his DVDs - who, in other words, know nothing about him - would not love this book.

Achieving Harmony with Your Furry Friend, October 29, 2007
Reviewer: Bob Maida
My profession since 1969 has been a dog trainer specializing
in the problem dog. I see Cesar's new book as being quite helpful
to dog owners as well as fellow dog professionals.
In the book Cesar explains how to become pack leader via
a calm/assertive pathway. Very little on actual dog handling.
This is more of a manual on how to understand dogs and develop
a positive and calm mindset. He clearly explains on how to achieve this state without being aggressive, yelling or emotional. How? With positive affirmations, inner dialogue and visualization along with other techniques.
If you like Tony Robbins, Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer..You'll love Cesar Millan. His approach to leadership is quite new age and nowhere near what the critics are stating.
I've seen negative reviews regarding the book..obviously the close minded
have not read it and have some preconceived notion about Cesar
Millan. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Do your dog a favor..Get this book today.
Get another for a dog owning friend/relative...they'll love you for it
Yours for a better understanding of dogs,
Bob Maida

Pack Leader goes the next level!, October 15, 2007
Reviewer: Cynthia Anderson
While the story of my Signal Bear 'red-zone rescue' and my entry into the dog rescue world is the success story discussed in Chapter 7. The truth is that it is really the story of all of you who have stepped forward to help or save a dog, who had no one else and no other hope.
When we go beyond our current set of knowledge and skills to help an abandoned dog or dog condemned to be euthanized, we are employing the very skill sets explained in Cesar's new book.
The difference between “Cesar’s Way” and “Be the Pack Leader” for me was like the difference between knowing the mechanics of how to drive a car – I learned, that if I do this and that, I get this and that result.
“Be the Pack Leader”, is for those people who want to understand the “HOW” of WHY “Cesar’s Way” work. This frees one up to understand how to adapt solutions to the many kinds of environment, challenges, and owner contributions to problem dog situations.
'Be the Pack Leader', helps us to move back to our instincts and intuitions by learning to trust the mirrors of behaviors that dogs give to us of the TRUTH of what is going on inside of us. We have been conditioned since childhood to put on a mask to fit in and be socially acceptable…hide your pain, grief, sadness, frustration, anger… to the point that most of us don’t even know what is going on at the deepest level.
Looking clearly and taking responsibility for how much of our dogs behavior is a reflection of our own internal condition is one of the major elements contributing to the success of “Be the Pack Leader' for thousands, yes ~ thousands of people who are now walking Cesar’s way.
THEIR stories are available for you to review, if you need to, 65,000 messages from several thousands of members of a yahoo email list devoted to seriously working on understanding how Cesar’s way can change their own problem dogs to good dogs. Over 1000 have solved their problems and left. 2300 are still there. More dog owners arrive every day for mutual help, support and resource application of Cesarized techniques.
If you have ever wanted to rescue a dog in eminent danger of being euthanized because no one would help, get a new dog but not sure how it would fit into your life, or just want to understand better how Cesar’s approach can be used on our human relationships. This is definitely a book that will help you get headed in the right direction. |
