| Anne Marie -- thank you for sharing your 'secrets!' This puppy training tape uses no force and emphasizes play-learning to keep everything fun; I never tire watching it and learn new things with each viewing. After an interesting introduction on how to select a future obedience puppy and what to do when the puppy is brought home, Anne Marie explains verbally and visually her concise, easy to duplicate play-motivated exercises while interacting with young untrained puppies, puppies already starting their training and beautifully-working adults to show progression and the ultimate--a happy, successful partnership in and outside of the ring. My own puppy loves his play-training sessions and I feel like we're having a private training session with Anne Marie. He's not only learning but 'thinking' and the results are very fulfilling. Wish there were more 'paws' than 5 to give; this tape deserves many high-fives! Thanks again, Anne Marie and Dogwise! |

It seemed a lot of the video focused on picking a puppy, the beginning work of housetraining, etc. and not so much on obedience work. The last part of the video had some simple obedience exercises, like teaching the puppy to watch and follow you with her head up. There's no routine to follow or schedules of training, which was disappointing.
It is a strange mix of 'puppy-picking for the complete idiot' and obedience exercises for the knowledgeable, competitive person. |
