The semi-permeable shield is absorbed into the paws, allowing perspiration to escape through the toes. How often should I use Musher's Secret?
It depends on the activity level of your dog. Mushers will "walk off" in about a week. In snowy conditions, I use it 2-3 times a week (we walk 2 miles a day). In snowy weather, be sure to spread Mushers up in between the pads to prevent snowballing.
Is it ok if my dog licks his paws after I apply Mushers?
Absolutely, dogs like the taste, and ingredients are all 100% natural waxes. I usually apply just before we go out.

My dog has issues with salt and getting snowballs in between his pads.
Musher's Secret has all but stopped him holding up his paws or 'dancing' around. He does not get bothersome snowballs between his pads. It does not stain the carpet and leaves his pads smooth. I apply it about 3 times a week, and my dog gets an hour of outside exercise a day.
A couple of things: my dog *hates* the smell. After applying it, he runs all over rubbing his face on the ground. Also, it doesn't seem to work as well once it's -25 C and lower.
Overall, it's an excellent product, and the jar will last a long time... I've had it for 2 winters and would imagine it lasting 2 more. |
