Dogwise Goes to Westminster!

Dogwise's fearless leaders Larry and Charlene Woodward braved the winter weather and Big City crowds to attend the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA) awards banquet and the Westminster Kennel Club Show, both held in New York City in February 2004. Dogwise Publishing had two books nominated for DWAA awards, Mastering Variable Surface Tracking by Ed Presnall and Raw Dog Food, Make It Easy for You and Your Dog by Carina Beth MacDonald. Raw Dog Food won in its category "Under 100 pages. " Best of all, Carina was there to accept her award.

What a thrill! Raw Dog Food, Make It Easy for You and Your Dog won a Dog Writers' award. Here are publishers Larry and Charlene Woodward with our winning author Carina MacDonald. She's the one with the Really Big Grin.
The DWAA awards banquet is the perfect time to meet those wonderful folks who write the books that Dogwise sells. Here is DWAA Past President Mordecai Seigal with current President Chris Walcowicz.

Meeting Willie of How Willie Got His Wheels and How Willie Got His Wings fame was like meeting a Hollywood STAR. The spunky Chihuahua who uses wheels to substitute for his his paralyzed legs was at DWAA with his owner/author Deborah Turner.
Andrea Arden (left) author of Dog Friendly Dog Training and Deborah Wood (right) who's latest books include Dog-Lovers Guide to Dating and Making it to Westminster let Charlene hang out with them and feel cool in the Westminster Press Room.
The seats are nearly full at 11 am on a Monday morning for breeds. The crowd is pumped. You have both show people and the public in the audience and people are in a good mood.
Toy Fox Terriers take a turn.

Don't bother coming to Westminster if you hate crowds. It is packed in the benching/vendor area, but you will find unique doggie-themed merchandise is for sale at Westminster.
