a post to say hi.

Tresallier is my kennel name and is taken from a minor grape variety in the Loire valley in France. however i live in the south of England (UK).
I have four Brittanys; a 7 year old dog, Topaz, a house dog (bitch) Ellie who is 6, a German import bitch Catja 5 (now a full UK champion) and a home bred tricolour pup Fresco who is 18months. I have shown them all and trial and work three. they are trained using a 'retrieve' based reward system and verbal praise, no food treats. - I tried that and got fed up with having my trouser pockets chewed out if I left them where i shouldn't have.

My greatest 'lightbulb'moment came when reading Susan Clothiers If Bones should rain from the sky. My current book is Behan's Your dog is your mirror. whilst I find his prose verging on 'touchy feely' at times I find his ideas most insightful and keep finding myself realigning some of my own observations with his - it is a bit like having a box of jigsaw pieces and suddenly being able to link up a whole block of sky bits.

fresco at about 14 months off after a retrieve.

hello again :-)
love the pictures.
I have Rotties and am involved with Rottie and Pittie rescue. I'm a trainer and volunteer in behavior mod. and enrichment at a local shelter.
I've also lived with a dear Lab who went to the Bridge last year.

Currently live with my two sweet young Rottie girls from reputable breeder, same sires.
and my first-ever girl always in my heart, died early from kidney disease

I attended Suzanne's seminar and have her book, really enjoyed both.
