Expanded Description:
In “How to Right a Dog Gone Wrong,” Pam Dennison’s first book on rehabilitating aggressive dogs, she outlined the training methods that she uses in her local New Jersey area. It was an overwhelming success - people really wanted to learn how to help their own aggressive dogs’ behavior. However, people living in larger urban areas have very unique situations and encounters, and often, it can be next to impossible to create enough safe and comfortable space between the aggressive dog and the provoking stimuli.
“Civilizing the City Dog” was written with those people in mind. In it, Dennison addresses these particular needs by augmenting and changing the exercises and techniques in her first book and focusing on those issues inherent to life in the city with the aggressive or proactive dog. If you are working with an aggressive dog in a metropolitan environment, be sure you have BOTH books. Re-training an aggressive dog is possible and can be successful by using both “How to Right A Dog Gone Wrong” and its ‘city’ supplement, “Civilizing the City Dog”.

| City Dog Help!, February 20, 2008 |
| Reviewer: Tami Hawes |
Pam's book 'How to Right a Dog Gone Wrong' helped lots of people with their reactive/aggressive dog but left many city dwellers wondering how to do the work in their crowded urban areas.
'Civilizing the City Dog' gives you the tools on how to do the work with your dog and hopefully calm your reactive dog.
Pam addresses how to prepare before you go out on many of the exercises - either by yelling at the TV or whistle training a recall with your dog. How to handle doorbells and elevators, walking on the street, how to practice with other dogs, and much more. Pam also covers those 'oh oh' moments that you may not have prepared for too.
If you live an urban area without suburbs close by, this is a must have book for you and your dog.
