We had a nice response to our last weekly update on best sellers, several folks asking for more titles. So here is a list of what we call recent "surprise" best sellers. These are books that we knew nothing about (and we think we know everything when it comes to dog books!) that came to us via customer referral or with little or no advanced warning from the publisher or author - in other words, they were pleasant surprises:
Building a Bridge: From Training to Testing by Marsha Smith and
Shalini Bosbyshell. A new and unique perspective on training dogs
for competitive obedience, referred to us by several dog show customers.
Cognitive Canine II by Lisa Lit. Thank you whoever recommended
this to us, a fascinating look at cognition and how it relates to
dog behavior and training.
Performance Dog Nutrition by Dr. Jocelyn Jacobs. Dr. Jacobs sent
the completed book to us for review - and it took us maybe 10
seconds to realize this was a great book on a subject of interest to
many of you.
Work Wonders by
Tom Lonsdale. It's hard to be surprised when you are the exclusive distributor
of a book in North America, but we did
not know Tom had completed his manuscript until he emailed it to us,
and once again we knew we had a winner on our hands. Tom's guide to
feeding and managing raw food diets, sort of a consumer oriented
companion to his classic *Raw Meaty Bones.
