Weekly Update from Dogwise: National Train Your Dog Month |
|
Dear Dogwise Customer,
Our good friends at the Association of Pet Dog Trainers have proclaimed January to be National Train Your Dog Month. What a great New Year's resolution for a dog owner - get that new puppy or adopted dog trained, or re-train a dog who needs a bit of a tune-up. Of course we have literally hundreds of training books in stock including many of which are geared for professionals and expert trainers. But we have lots of training material geared for novices or those who want to buy just one book to handle the basics for the family pet. Here are four good choices that fit that need:
- The Puppy Primer 2nd Edition by Patricia McConnell and Brenda Scidmore. Obviously geared for puppies but lots of great information to train any age of dog.
- It's Me or the Dog by Victoria Stilwell. Many of you have seen Victoria helping dog owners solve behavioral problems on TV. This is a well rounded training book with great illustrations.
- The Toolbox of Building a Great Family Dog by Terry Ryan. One of America's most admired trainers tackles her favorite subject - training the family dog - written in her fun style with lots of inventive ideas and games to help make your family dog great. This is our Book of the Week through January 11th available at 25% off the regular price, only $12.71.
- Train Your Dog Like a Pro by Jean Donaldson. This book is a little more challenging than the others, but is still designed for beginners who are willing to make more of a commitment to training. Comes with a 2 1/2 hour DVD to further illustrate the techniques and concepts covered.
We still have some 2012 Breed Calendars in stock but they are quickly disappearing. If you are lucky you will find that we have stock in your breed at a 50% savings.
