Weekly Update from Dogwise: Wolf Research and Something New from Trish McConnell!

Dear Dogwise Customer,

One of the more interesting subjects of debate in the dog world these days is how closely related domestic dogs are to wolves, and how similar dog behavior is to wolf behavior. While the answers to these questions will be debated for years, there is no debate that Wolves: Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation, now available in paperback, represents the latest in academic research on wolves and should be of interest to students of canine behavior as well. Edited by David Mech, this beautiful volume - especially the articles on wolf behavior and communication - make fascinating reading for anyone trying to further their understanding of dogs.

Trish McConnnell and Aimee Moore have combined forces to write Family Friendly Dog Training: A Six Week Program for You and Your Dog. This book is written for the average pet owner and combines just the right balance of theory and positive training methods with a practical and realistic training schedule that most pet owners will be able to accept and accomplish. For trainers, our guess is that this book could be one that you will want to recommend to your clients, not only because it is a great book, but because it is affordable as well.

Note that Family Friendly Dog Training, while a completely new book, is replacing Beginning Family Dog Training by McConnell which is now considered out of print. We have 20 copies left, and you can find them now on our bargain books page marked down 50% while supplies last. And speaking of bargains, we have a glut of old Hoflin Annuals (breed books) on the bargain books page, now marked all the way down to $10.00 each, once again while supplies last.

Thanks from all of us at Dogwise.
