Weekly Update from Dogwise: Behavior problems and more! |
|
Dear Dogwise Customer,
Just a quick promise kept notice before going further. Between Dog and Wolf is now available in Ebook form. Sorry we made you converts to Ebooks wait an extra few days.
We have literally dozens of books and DVDs that deal with solving behavior problems. One that sneaked up on us a bit is Emma Parsons (of Click to Calm fame) and Julie Robitaille's new DVD entitled TACT: A Training Program for Dogs that are Fearful or Reactive Toward People. This is an innovative new way to deal with reactive and aggressive behavior using a combination of clicker training and massage therapy. This sneaked up so quickly on us that we ran out last week - but more are on the way.
Sometimes behavior problems are a result of a wild and crazy goodhearted dog whose owner inadvertently reinforces his harmless or rude behaviors. If this sounds like your dog(s), check out Chill Out Fido by Nan Arthur to get a handle on this problem. Chill Out is our Book of the Week available at a 25% discount through February 1st - only $11.96.
Newest books & products:
- Sergeant Rex - The Unbreakable Bond Between a Marine and His Military Working Dog by Mike Dowling. Deployed into the cauldron of Iraq in 2004, Sgt. Dowling and his dog, Rex, were part of the first military working-dog team sent to the front lines since Vietnam. Filled with harrowing tales of bomb-detection work, "Sergeant Rex" is both a heart-pounding and heart-warming account of how an unbreakable human-canine bond helped Dowling and Rex to stay focused on their mission and save countless lives.
- Swim to Recovery - Canine Hydrotherapy Healing by Emily Wong. This unique book explores canine hydrotherapy, rehabilitation and weight management, and how these can improve your dog's well-being. Hydrotherapy can help prevent and treat many medical problems and pre-/post-operative conditions in dogs, and can also be used for rehabilitation and maintaining health and fitness in your dog.
- K9 Search - One Handler's Journey by Sharolyn Sievert. If you were thinking about volunteering for Search and Rescue, the book will give you an honest glimpse into what you are signing up for. For the seasoned SAR K9 handler, you will recognize the "been there and done that's" throughout the book.
