As mentioned two weeks ago, the Dog Writer's Association of America annual awards banquet was held last Sunday night in New York in association with the Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Here are just some of the Maxwell award winners for 2008:
Probably the most touching moment of the event was the lifetime achievement award handed out to Rachel Page Elliott for her writings, DVDs, and research on dogs. Pagey was not able to attend, but her grandson Nick was there to accept the award and we were able to snap a photo of him with Chris Zink, a close friend of Pagey. By the way, we now carry a DVD produced by Pagey which should be of interest to all Golden Retriever fanciers - The Golden Retriever - Structure, Movement and Use.
Congratulations to all the winners and to Stump, the Sussex Spaniel who took BIS at Westminster.
