Brenda, well known for her best selling behavior books Aggression in Dogs and Canine Body Language, now turns her attention to improving training techniques through building a more solid relationship with your dog. So how do you "get connected" with your dog? The key is learning how dogs communicate, recognizing that dogs are great at reading body language, and then taking that knowledge and using it to more effectively interact with your dog. These new skills, along with utilizing positive training techniques to reinforce good behavior, will allow you to build a stronger bond between you and your dog. Once you combine your improved communication and training techniques, you are more likely to reach what Brenda calls the "Magic Switch" - the point at which your dog switches from using the "reactive" part of his brain (the Hindbrain) over to using the "thinking" part of his brain (the Frontbrain) in his interactions with you. Once you reach this point, your training will become much more effective and enjoyable for both you and your dog. The companion DVD, which illustrates various exercises and the training techniques, is 90 minutes long.
