Weekly Update from Dogwise: Kids and Dogs

Dear Dogwise Customer,
The subject of kids and dogs is one that we return to from time to time in our weekly newsletters because we think its so important. There is the obvious safety issue (for both sides), but getting kids and dogs off to the right start together is also so critical for family harmony. We know that many future dog trainers are shaped by their experiences with dogs when they were young. We are pleased that the literature on this subject continues to grow with a number of really good books having come out on the subject over the past couple years - click here to see our selection. If you browse through the listings, you'll notice that the books are basically two types: the first are books that are written for kids, or are written to be read to kids; and the second are books written for trainers and adults to help anticipate and manage potential problems and give specific training advice. Here are a few we would like to highlight, but please look through the entire selection as there are many great choices now:
