Weekly Update: Spokane? Yes!!

Dear Dogwise Customer,

As you probably know, the 2013 APDT Educational Conference is going to be held in Spokane, Washington next fall. You are probably asking yourself where the heck is Spokane and why is the conference being held there? Well, we have to confess to being more than a bit biased toward Spokane given that our home base of Wenatchee is located only 150 miles to the west and so this will be the closest APDT conference to us ever. We think you should be excited about Spokane too, even though we know many of you will need to hop on an airplane to get there. Why? It is a beautiful city with probably the most impressive set of waterfalls running right through the downtown area. October is a great time of year to visit, with wonderful fall colors and it is usually dry and cool. The convention center where the conference is being held is right on the riverfront with miles and miles of walking trails. While Spokane is a long way from many of you, there are good flight connections through Minneapolis, Denver and Salt Lake City. Not to mention the line-up of speakers looks great this year.

To celebrate the first APDT conference to be held in Washington we thought we would feature noted trainers and authors who live and work in Washington state. They include:

We have just added this new tug toy from Clean Run. The Ram Tuff Split Wooly Tug Toy is a 2-handled tug toy that features two genuine sheepskin bite areas that are sewn to 1/2" diameter multifilament polypropylene rope. The rope has a broken-in feel and is soft and gentle on your hands. The bite areas are split by a thick knot in the rope. The double-handled design gives you more leverage and control, making it easier for you to tug with your dog. The scent and feel of the fur is exciting to many dogs that need a very stimulating tug toy.

  • DERMagic Shampoo W/Peppermint & Tea Tree Oil - 12 Fl. Oz DERMagic’s shampoo is specially formulated to soothe and condition the skin, eliminate odor and stimulate the healing process. • The Eternal Gift: Coping with the Grief of Losing A Beloved Animal by Lauren McCall. The Eternal Gift takes the reader on a wonderful journey led by the author, and by animals who have shared loving lives with their people and want to reassure them that there is life beyond death and that the eternal cycle of life, death and reincarnation is one that they are comfortable with.
