Weekly Update from Dogwise: Facing Farewell |
|
Dear Dogwise Customer,
Dogwise Publishing is pleased to announce the release of Facing Farewell - Making the Decision to Euthanize Your Pet by Dr. Julie Reck. Julie is a vet who specialized in home euthanasia services for many years. While there have been lots of books written about dealing with the grief that accompanies the death of a pet, no book has really focused like Julie's book does on the euthanasia decision, and perhaps more importantly, understanding exactly what the euthanasia process involves. Pet owners are often so stressed or grief stricken leading up to euthanasia that they do not understand or know what is going to happen, what could possibly go wrong and that in fact there are options that they have regarding the process itself. Of course the best time to learn all of the details about euthanasia is well before you are facing it head on. Learn that you do have choices about regarding where the procedure takes place, whether or not the vet should use an IV catheter and whether or not a sedative should be given to your pet prior to the procedure. The book also focuses in on providing you with tools to evaluate your pet's quality of life and pain levels so that you can recognize when it's time to move forward if that is what you choose. Facing Farewell is for both dog and cat owners and provides some interesting contrasts between how dogs and cats express and attempt to deal with pain. This book will be a great resouce for anyone who loves their pets and wants to be informed beforehand as to how to make a wise, loving and difficult choice when the time comes.
What you believe about the afterlife will impact whether or not the book Animals and the Afterlife by Kim Sheridan will appeal to you. All we can say is that we have sold hundreds of copies of this book on what is both a fascinating and controversial subject and it should prove an enormous comfort to many of you following the passing of a pet.
For you Kathy Sdao fans, we now have the seminar DVD of Plenty in Life is Free to go along with the book and the Ebook of the same title. If you never get to go one of her seminars, this is the next best thing. One hour and 18 minutes, $29.95
