Now that spring has finally arrived (unlike much of the country, the Pacific NW had a long winter this year!), thoughts turn to getting outside and playing - and that should include your dogs as well. Back when we got started in business, there was very little literature available on the training, developmental and bond-building benefits of play including play between people and dogs, dog-dog play, even self-play. We now know how important play is in addition to just being a lot of fun and we have a large number of books and DVDs on the subject. Here are some of our favorites:
Play With Your Dog by Pat Miller. Our book of the week specially priced at $5.00 thru April 26th.
Play Together, Stay Together by Trish McConnell and Karen London.
Off Leash Dog Play - A Complete Guide to Safety and Fun by Robin Bennett and Susan Briggs.
Canine Play Behavior - The Science of Dogs at Play by Mechtild Kaufer.
Interactive Play Guide by Craig Ogilvie. New from England.
The RCT Training Games Kit by Suzanne Clothier and Heather Leonard.
Gamify Your Dog Training - Training Games for Group Instruction by Terry Ryan.
Serious Fun - Play Like a Dog by Sue Sternberg.
Dog Play - Understanding Play Between Dogs and People DVD from Trish McConnell.
