Weekly Update from Dogwise: New books from Europe |
|
Dear Dogwise Customer,
As you may be aware, books are pretty heavy items relative to their value. So getting books all the way to the Pacific Northwest from Europe is often cost prohibitive. Fortunately, we have worked with some good distributors who are able to make this happen and while the price for books from Europe tend to be a little high, we have added several new titles, including a whole series of breed books (click here for the list) whose content is worth the price. These include:
- Train Your Dog by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, UK. This is a great beginning training and behavior book based on the work and input of leading APDT trainers in the UK including Sarah Whitehead and Barry Eaton.
- The APBC Book of Companion Animal Behaviour edited by David Appleby. Similar to the book listed above but focused more on behavior concepts and issues with chapters from leading behaviorists in the UK.
- Anatomy of the Dog by Kerstin Mielke. A book from Germany which provides a great overview (in color) of the dog's anatomy. This is not a textbook like some of the other anatomy books we carry, but provides the reader with the basics of the dog's various anatomical systems (skeletal, muscular, etc.)
Our Book of the Week has been our most popular European import over the past two years - Trick School for Dogs by Manuela Zaitz. This excellent trick training book is available at 20% off through May 4th, only $19.96.
Our product feature this week is the SofFlite Discs. These flying discs are ultra-soft for canines with sensitive mouths. Use the SofFlite discs to train your puppy or to introduce your adult canine to the pleasures of canine disc play. SofFlite discs are competition approved and perfect for canines with softer bites.
