Dear Dogwise Customer,

We first met Alxe at a Pet Writer's Conference back in 2010 where she presented us an idea for a book based on her "unplanned" entrance into the world of dog shows and showing with her Great Dane Kunga (the big guy on the cover!). The idea was very intriguing to us because Alxe had never shown a dog prior to acquiring Kunga and had learned all she knew about shows and showing pretty much on a trial and error basis. And perhaps most interestingly, Alxe brought no preconceived notions into the ring with her and proved to be a very astute observer of what goes in the world of dog shows - observations from an outsider that you will not read about in other books. For someone who is interested in showing dogs, the book should prove to be very educational as well as entertaining. For you experienced show people, you will likely relate to a lot of what Alxe experienced, both the highs and the lows. Warning - Alxe pulls no punches as she writes about judges, professional handlers, breeders and the AKC.
