Weekly Update from Dogwise: Rally Time! |

Dear Dogwise Customer,
You often hear the words "Rally Time!" during the spring as baseball season heats up and the NHL and the NBA playoffs wrap up (I guess no one told the Miami Heat...). In the dog world, spring is a great season to think of Rally-O time. A few years ago, the only book we had on the subject was Bud Kramer's Rally-O (which is now a classic), but now our selection has grown to include beginner books, advanced books, books on course design, and DVDs. So whether you are a beginner or an advanced competitor we have something for you. Click here to see our entire selection.
One of the types of books that was missing up until recently was a good beginner book. That gap has now been filled very nicely by Deb Eldredge's The Ultimate Guide to Rally-O. Geared for the beginner but with enough solid information to get you off to a good start, this is a wonderful book to refer to a client or a friend who has never competed in obedience of any type. Two of the more advanced books (and are dual Book of the Weeks) are Rally On by Marie Sawford and Click Your Way to Rally Obedience by Pam Dennison. For those of you who are ready to move up in this sport, you can take advantage of 20% discounts on these two titles through June 22nd --- Rally On at $23.20 and Click Your Way at $18.36.
After much deliberation, we have decided to put our entire stock of AKC Breed DVD's on clearance with a price reduction from $24.95 down to $14.95. These are wonderful DVD's for anyone who is interested in a detailed look at specific Breed Standards and how an AKC judge will look at and evaluate your dog (note - they are not training DVD's). As we cut back the number of dog shows we attend and with an explosion of information now available on-line, we think the time is right for us to no longer carry these DVD's. So please take advantage of the lower price. Since the items are on clearance, this offer is good only on stock available, we will not be re-ordering them. Right now we have a very good selection and if move quickly you are likely to find the breed you want.
We've added some fun new products like the Dog Bag Mini Duffels - 12 Bio Degradable Bags. The duffel made of recycled plastic is 3 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches in diameter and includes two different reattaching fasteners to easily secure to your leash, belt or collar. Colorful and a very useful gift for the dog caretaker.

- K9 Behavior Basics - A Manual For Proven Success in Operational Service Dog Training by Resi Gerritsen, Ruud Haak and Simon Prins. Initially geared towards the police and military K9, this book uses Applied Behavior Analysis to deliver a method of training focused more on goal behavior rather than an exacting training curriculum consisting of yanking and barking commands as was used in the past.
- Make Time for Play Magnet by Dog is Good. Make Time for Play Magnet is perfect for those notes and reminders on the fridge for you and your dog. The magnet is 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches and very colorful. Add a matching card or dog toy as a great gift for a friend with a canine flair.
- All About Aggression DVD by Pam Reid. This DVD was taped at the Masters In Behavior Conference in early 2011 and includes the following 3 seminars: What Is and Isn't Aggression, Aggression in Dogs and Dominance Aggression.
