We hear that much of the East Coast is being hammered by constant rain, but here in the Northwest summer has hit us with a heat wave. 90 degrees plus all week, and many of the staff here at Dogwise are looking kind of hang-dog in need of a break. While we cannot control the heat, we have decided to take a long weekend to cool our heels and recharge our batteries. So our warehouse and customer service will be closed both Monday the 3rd and Tuesday the 4th of July next week. Orders placed after Friday AM our time will be shipped on the 5th next week. Our web site, of course, is never (well almost never!) closed so go ahead and place orders and make our shipping department bust their tails next week when we get back from the break.

Couple new items to tell you about this week. Our friends at Clean Run have produced The Exercise Sourcebook 2, with more suggested exercises for intermediate and advanced agility jumps, weaving and contacts. A great next step for those of you who mastered the first volume. For those of you interested in learning more about canine body language and calming signals, we have a new DVD by Sarah Kalnajs called The Language of Dogs DVD that illustrates hundreds of examples of canine body language in a seminar format. If you are a trainer or a shelter dog worker this DVD may help your further understanding of signals that dogs use to communicate a variety of emotions. And finally we can answer "yes" to the question "Do you have any books on Shiloh Shepherds?" The Shiloh Shepherd Story by Tina Barber offers readers a unique perspective and overview of the Shiloh Shepherd by one of its founding breeders and experts.
