Weekly Update from Dogwise: What Are They Doing, Thinking and Saying? |

Dear Dogwise Customer,
One subject that is consistently popular with our customers is how dogs communicate. Following the pioneering work of Turid Rugaas, Brenda Aloff and Barbara Handelman on aspects of canine body language, there have been a number of interesting books and DVDs brought out - by both "dog people" and experts from other fields - that seek to understand and explain just what the heck is going on when dogs do what they do. Best of all, even though the material can be challenging, the subject makes for enjoyable reading or viewing. So unlike some detailed training book or seminar, these are items you can take on vacation with you this summer and enjoy. Here are some suggested items to consider, including two special clearance deals:
- Lost in Translation? DVD featuring Patricia McConnell. New seminar footage of Trish's take on how dogs use sign, sound and smell to communicate.
- The Language of Dogs DVD featuring Sarah Kalnajs. Our best selling DVD over the past five years on reading what is going on in the canine world.
- Dog Sense by John Bradshaw and Your Dog is Your Mirror by Kevin Behan. These two popular books on behavior and the dog/human relationship are both on clearance. Here is the deal - we have a number of hardback copies of each of these books in stock, we have ordered paperback versions of each. Both hardback versions are marked down 50%! but is limited to stock on hand. So if you want the hardback at half price, move quickly.
