Dogwise Publishing is very pleased to announce the publication of The Dog Trainer's Resource 2 in conjunction with The Association of Pet Dog Trainers and editor Mychelle Blake. Following on the success of the original The Dog Trainer's Resource (still in print and available!), all parties involved agreed that it made perfect sense to put together another volume of the best articles from the past couple years from APDT's Chronicle of the Dog into book form, organized by subject.

What is amazing about both of these books is the incredible breadth and depth of knowledge included in the articles - knowledge that an increasing number of dog trainers recognize they need to have to be successful in this challenging profession. Learning theory, advanced training skills, how to market your business, the latest in medical care for dogs, class organization, teaching kids and seniors, the list goes on and on - even how to train cats!! Volume 2 is even larger than the first one, almost 400 pages including 73 articles from 43 authors, all recognized experts in their special fields of interest. This is a book you will refer to again and again as you work to develop all the skills you need to succeed as a dog trainer.

Speaking of APDT, let's take the opportunity once again to mention the upcoming APDT Educational Conference and Trade Show scheduled for October 15-19 in Louisville, Kentucky. This is the premier annual educational event in the country for dog trainers and those who want to be dog trainers. We certainly recognize that travel has become more expensive and more of a hassle over the past year or so, but for the first time in several years the conference is being held within reasonable driving distance of many of you living in the Midwest and northeastern part of the country. So for those of you in Chicago, St Louis, Nashville, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and the like, this is the most accessible the conference has been to you in years. Take advantage of the opportunity and plan to attend. Plus Dogwise will be there with a large book display and we hear that Louisville is a great restaurant town to boot!
