Dogwise Publishing welcomes two more authors who haven chosen to use us as their prime distributors - Pat Hastings and Dee Ganley. And we are very happy to be working with them on their books and hopefully future projects as well.
Many of you know Pat Hastings through her work as an AKC judge, her seminars, and of course her books and DVDs. In addition to being perhaps the friendliest and most approachable judge you will ever meet, Pat is well known for her work evaluating puppies, especially as it relates to a canine structure and your breeding programs. She has recently expanded into researching the impact of puppy-rearing practices on a dog's ability to develop happily and confidently. We are now distributing the following items that were originally published by Pat:
Dee Ganley's Changing People, Changing Dogs is the other book we are welcoming to Dogwise Publishing. Originally self-published, the book has garnered quite a following among trainers, especially for the many well thought out exercises it presents to help "difficult" dogs gain more control over their actions and self-confidence. In the interest of full disclosure for those of you who bought the original book either from us or Dee, the version of the book we now have in stock is a "revised" edition with a new binding, a lower price, and a number of minor changes throughout the book. It is not what we in the publishing business term a "new edition" in that the amount of changes are not significant enough to be classified as new.
Here is another one of our Dogwise staff picks for non-book products. Bill Woodward, the Dogwise "Road Warrior" who travels around the country selling books and DVDs at dog shows, recently discovered this handy cell phone clip which anyone who is busy and is always bending over, moving about, and often has their hands full (hint - think dog trainers and dog show vendors!) should find very useful. The Cliphanger is a durable, universal caddy system that hooks onto your belt, belt loop, purse handle, briefcase, etc - it also comes with an attachment so that you can hook it on the dash of your car. It can work with i-Pods, PDA's - even small treat bags if you are clever. We call it the Dogwise Cliphanger because: 1. we all like them; and 2. our marketing department decided to ask the supplier to add a Dogwise sticker to it for promotional purposes! It really is a slick product!
