Weekly Update from Dogwise: Outside of the Ring

Dear Dogwise Customer,
There are literally dozens of very good books and DVD's that will help you and your dog perform better in the ring no matter which dog sport you compete in - conformation, agility, obedience, rally, etc. And while having a healthy and well trained dog is key, don't forget the importance of you the handler. You need to know what your goals are, be mentally prepared and confident - all of which takes place outside the ring. Handler errors can be mental as well as physical and both are costly in terms of how you score in ring. Our advice - take time to understand your own goals and motivation - and as one of our selected titles says, learn how to "compete in joy." You and your dog will both perform better if you do! While most dog sports books cover this topic to some extent, here are some to look at which focus even more on you and your needs:
One of our most popular treats is Bowser's Buffalo Bites. Chopped and formed buffalo jerky treats, 10 strips to an 8 oz. package. Strips can be easily broken into bite-size pieces to use as bait; soft, moist texture, but non-greasy. Contains soy protein. Dogs love this stuff!
