Two of our more popular authors have been added to the speaker list at the upcoming APDT conference in Portland, Oregon in October. Guess we are going to have to adjust the inventory we will be bringing!
Angelica Steinker. Angelica is the author of the popular Click
and Play Agility and Agility Success. Agility continues to be a
very popular subject and clicker training can be a useful tool in
developing a good agility competitor.
Roger Abrantes. Roger is a pioneer researcher on the subject of
canine evolution and body language. His Dog Language has been
one of our best selling books for many years as has his Evolution
of Canine Social Behavior. Roger is always a very popular speaker
when he appears at the conference.
We have carried the 5 Minute Veterinary Consult textbook for vets for several years. With the increasing recognition that vets and vet techs need to be more familiar with behavioral problems as well, a companion guide is now available that does just that. Blackwell's Five-Minute Veterinary Consult Clinical Companion: Canine & Feline Behavior (long title, huh?) by Debra Horwitz and Jacqueline Neilson. As the title implies, the book is designed for busy vets - the problem is laid out, how it presents itself, treatment options, and cautions.
