Every year we get lots of folks asking us what sold best at the APDT Educational Conference because they want to know what their peers in the dog training business and fellow dog enthusiasts were most interested in. So in no particular order, here is what was flying out of our booth last week in Kansas City:
Ruff Love and Shaping
Success by Susan Garrett. Susan spoke at
the conference and generated a lot of interest in her two books.
For the Love of a Dog by Patricia McConnell. Trish's new look at
canine body language and dog/human relationships was a slam-dunk
best seller. The lines at the author signing for Trish were long!
Help for Your Fearful Dog by Nicole Wilde. Nicole continues to put
out great information of use for dog trainers and behavior
consultants. Here is a book on a subject that trainers deal with
constantly.
The Dog Trainer's Resource - APDT's Chronicle of the Dog
Collection edited by Mychelle Blake. The reference book for dog
trainers written by dog trainers is expected to be a must-have for
many years.
Other books and videos that sold well: Changing People Changing Dogs by Dee Ganley; The Family in Dog Behavior Consulting by Lynn Hoover; New Puppy, Now What? DVD by Victoria Schade; The Language of Dogs DVD by Sarah Kalnajs; and Right on Target by Mandy Book and Cheryl Smith.
