Weekly Update from Dogwise: 2008 Surprises! |
|
Dear Dogwise Customer,
As we have mentioned in updates before, we like pleasant surprises. And by pleasant surprises we mean books that for some reason sell better than we expected - either because we knew very little about them when they first arrived on our doorstep or for some unexpected reason they just caught on with customers. While we know new books by authors like Patricia McConnell, Pat Miller, or Jean Donaldson are always sure bets, even after 20 years in this business we still get caught off-guard sometimes - but in this case its a good thing!
So here are the books that really surprised us in 2008:
Through a Dog's Ear by Joshua Leeds and Susan Wagner. Using
sound to improve the health and behavior of your dog, The book
includes a CD, and two separate CDs can be purchased as well.
Pet Food Politics by Marion Nestle. The inside story on the pet
food industry and what you need to watch for as a consumer.
The Dog Aggression Workbook by James O'Heare. While just about
everything we have in stock by O'Heare sells well, this was a
surprise since we did not have much warning he was working on it.
101 Dog Tricks by Kyra Sundance. There a lots of books out
there on tricks, but the great photos and clear step-by-step
instructions has really set this book apart.
Our staff non-book product pick this week is the K9Coil Hands Free Velcro Leash. Two things that our staff "testers" really like is that the velcro feature can be wrapped around your wrist or belt leaving your hands free, and the coil lead does not drag on the ground or get wrapped around your legs while allowing the dog some freedom to roam a bit. Available in black, blue or pink colors.
