Weekly Update: Congrats and Thanks to the Pet Professionals Guild!!

Dear !*FIRSTNAME*!,

We would like to take the opportunity to both congratulate and thank the Pet Professional Guild for the great conference they put on last week in Tampa, Florida. They attracted a good number of attendees, great speakers, and provided Dogwise and other exhibitors a great venue to meet folks and sell our products. We especially appreciate the fact they gave us adequate time to be open at the conference so people had more flexibility as to when they chose to visit our booth. Their commitment to science based, force free training and pet care dovetails well with the books we publish and sell. Here are the best sellers for us at the conference:

Manual of Clinical Behavioral Medicine for Dogs and Cats by Karen Overall. One of the resource books all trainers and behaviorists should own.

Beyond the Backyard - Train Your Dog to Listen Anywhere, Anytime by Densie Fenzi. Denise - you are on a roll!!

Do As I Do - Using Social Learning to Train Dogs by Claudia Fugazza. Thanks to our friend and speaker Pat Miller for speaking on this subject.

How Dogs Work by Ray Coppinger and Mark Feinstein. Everybody wants Ray's new book!

Dog Behaviour, Evolution and Cognition Revised 2nd Edition by Adam Miklosi. Some of the most important research on dog behavior is being done by author Adam Miklosi in Hungary - thanks to our friend Janis Bradly for promoting his work.

Newest books & products:

Predatory Behaviour Managment: How to Control Your Chasing Dog by Pia Gröning and Ariane Ullrich. Designed as a workbook it gives you step by step instructions and helps you get a grip on the situation. Training journal, generalization chart and reward chart become helpful tools for your successful, positive and consistent training that will be full of fun. Revised edition with a foreword by Professor Dr. Martin Pietralla.

Achieving Excellence in Multiple Dog Sports: Canine Crosstraining by Gerianne Darnell. Gerianne shares her crosstraining secrets in her latest book, Canine Crosstraining: Achieving Excellence In Multiple Dog Sports. With this book, you will learn how to set up a training plan while eactively managing your dog's stress during both training and competition, how to properly set goals, and how to use economies of scale while training multiple dogs in multiple sports. Even if you only train in one canine sport, this book will help you turn your failures into success!

Heal: The Vital Role of Dogs in the Search for Cancer Cures by Arlene Weintraub. Heal introduces readers to the field of comparative oncology by describing several research projects aimed at finding new therapies for cancers that are similar in dogs and people, including lymphoma, osteosarcoma, breast cancer, melanoma, and gastric cancer. Weintraub, who lost her sister to gastric cancer, also writes about the emerging science behind the remarkable ability of dogs to sniff out early stage cancer and the efforts underway to translate that talent into diagnostic devices for early detection of the disease. In the course of bringing these dogs and their human companions to life, Weintraub takes her own personal journey from grief to healing, as she shows her readers how man’s best friend might be the key to unlocking the mysteries of cancer.
