Don't Shoot the Dog ($15.99) by Karen Pryor. The book that introduced clicker training and operant conditioning to the dog world.

Positive Perspectives ($19.95) by Pat Miller. Covers a wide range of basic training issues and behavior problems while advocating the use of positive methods.

When Pigs Fly! ($17.95) by Jane Killion. We recommend you read the above books first, but armed with that basic knowledge you can learn to train even supposedly "difficult" breeds of dogs.
