Weekly Update from Dogwise: Kudos! |
|
Dear Dogwise Customer,
Four of our favorite books have been nominated for 2011 awards by the Dog Writer's Association of America. This means that not only do the books have strong content but they are clearly and well written. Awards will be handed out at the DWAA Awards Banquet in New York City on February 12th right before the two televised nights of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. These include:
- The Canine Thyroid Epidemic by Jean Dodds and Diana Laverdure. Nominated for best Care and Heath book of the year.
- Structure in Action by Pat Hastings with Wendy Wallace. Nominated for best General Interest or Reference book of the year.
- Love Has No Age Limit by Patricia McConnell and Karen London. Nominated for best soft cover book of the year.
- Don't Leave Me by Nicole Wilde. Nominated for best Training and Behavior book of the year.
We are also very pleased that Quick Clicks 2nd Edition by Cheryl Smith and Mandy Book won a Pet Age Pinnacle Award for 2011. Its good to know that the power of clicker training is now being recognized by the pet industry at large. Quick Clicks is our Book of the Week, 25% off through December 28th, only $14.96.
Just as a reminder, our office will be closed on both Friday, December 23rd and Friday, December 30th...the web site never closes however!
Newest books & products:
- Acu-Dog - A Guide to Canine Acupressure by Amy Snow and Nancy Zidonis. Tons of charts and photos with detailed discussion of TCM concepts, Assessment, Session Protocol, Hands-on Techniques, and, best of all - 32 Canine Health & Behavioral Acupressure Sessions.
- Transitions - Petmassage Energy Work for the Aging & Dying Dog by Jonathan Rudinger. This book teaches techniques that people can use to assist their dogs' end of life care. It discusses palliative Care, work by medical intuitive and animal massage practitioners.
- The Puppy Diaries - Raising a Dog Named Scout by Jill Abramson. Part memoir, part manual, part investigative report, The Puppy Diaries continues Abramson's intrepid reporting on all things canine and readers with young dogs should find Abramson's discussion of "adolescence" and its setbacks particularly reassuring.
