Weekly Update from Dogwise: The Year in Review Part 2
|
|
Dear Dogwise Customer,
This is the weekly newsletter where we admit to the surprise hits of the year. We say "admit" because, of course, we like to think we have our paws on the pulse of the dog book world and the dog book buying public, but sometimes books just come out of the blue that take us by surprise - in a good way! So here are some of our surprise books for 2010:
- Smellorama - Nose Games for Dogs by Vivane Theby. Hands down, the biggest surprise of the year.
- Line Training for Dogs - How Its Done by Monika Gutmann. Our Book of the Week, 20% off though December 29th at $19.16.
A surprise hit from Europe.
- Thinking in Pictures by Temple Grandin. An older book gained new life with a new cover and a hit HBO movie - the fascinatiing story of Temple Grandin.
- Teaching with Reinforcement by Kay Laurence. Anything Kay writes is in demand, we just had very little advance notice that it was going to be available to us for resale.
- The Focused Puppy by Deb Jones and Judy Keller. Another book that we did not have much advanced notice on but were really happy to get in stock.
We will be taking a three day weekend over Christmas so we will be closed on Friday December 24th. Back open on the 27th which we hope will be a busy shipping day!
Looking for a deal? We've marked down all of our Canine Genius toys! They are durable, chewable, configurable puzzles that you can stuff with tasty treats. Canine Genius toys connect together - so you can create a variety of puzzles that stimulate curiosity and appeal to your dog's natural desire to hunt and problem solve. Get them before they are gone!
Newest books & products:
- Let the Games Begin DVD by Terry Ryan. Terry focuses on the video audience with lecture and introduces many games that can be played with your dogs as an owner, and also games to use in your training class. It incorporates much of the material in Terry Ryan's book Life Beyond Block Heeling and the out-of-print book Games People Play to Train Their Dog.
- My Dog Tulip by J. R. Ackeley. First published in 1965, and now a Major Motion Picture - The distinguished British man of letters J. R. Ackerley hardly thought of himself as a dog lover when, well into middle age, he came into possession of a German shepherd.
- Doglife Chihuahua by Debra J. White. Chihuahuas are smart, intuitive, and shrewd. Loaded with love and a sassy attitude to boot!
The book is chronologically formatted starting with puppyhood, adulthood and extending through the senior years.
Thanks from all us at Dogwise and here's wishing you a very happy Holiday season.
