| I had a hard time getting into the first DVD but once I really sat down and listened there was so much help for the over the top dogs and the fearful ones too. Some simple concepts that I never thought of. |

This set is designed to compliment the book. I'm sure the author would want you to read the book to get the full understanding of the exercises in the DVDs but she also comments that assisting people with the book showed her that many people started these capturing exercises in distracting environments, which was not what she intended with the book. If you are familiar with capturing and reorienting, the DVDs would be enough to give you 4 or 5 great exercises for working toward off leash control. Of course without having read the book, it will take awhile to understand what the exercises accomplish as a set. These DVDs show several dogs working with their handlers on each exercise. The author narrates in detail the decision points in training, which she would choose, which the trainer chooses, and why.
One of the most complicated things about training is applying what you learn to different dogs. This DVD takes you through enough dogs to have a set of options in your training plan BEFORE you start which saves you from finding out in practice. |

This seminar was really well done. The quality and sound was fantastic.
Not all of the information in the book is covered in the seminar and so you really need to read the book to get everything Leslie has to offer (in addition to this DVD). I really enjoyed seeing Leslie demonstrate some of the exercises and I am looking forward to watching the accompanying DVD set of Game Demonstrations. |
