Born Blind. a guide to welcoming a blind dog into your house
Excellent and encouraging suggestions for those welcoming a blind dog., who can live a happy and full life with a prepared owner. This book is also of benefit for those, like me, who have a sighted dog who is at increased risk for blindness. While teaching basic obedience and life-skills, certain words, phrases, and movements can be taught that are not necessary for the sighted dog, but will be invaluable IF that dog loses his vision as an adult. The author also discusses the value of nosework/scent detection both as an enrichment sport and a valuable asset for a blind dog.
