Dogs communicate with so much more than barks and tail wags, and misreading doggie body language makes life challenging for dogs and their humans.

This small but mighty book is your perfect illustrated guide to seeing and understanding the subtle visual cues and interpreting the behaviours used by your beloved pup to express how they're feeling. The more we notice and listen to what our dogs are trying to tell us, the more we can improve our relationship with our best friends, helping them to feel safe and happy.

Lili Chin is an artist best known for co-creating the Warner Bros hit animated series "Mucha Lucha" and for her globally popular dog art. The founder of Doggie Drawings, she provides custom illustration and a catalog of art products for sale. Her dog behavior infographics have become a popular tool for dog training professionals, veterinarians, behaviorists, and welfare groups who advocate for humane animal training methods. Her animal artwork has also been featured in art museums, on television, and in world-wide educational media campaigns, and her "Dogs of The World" poster series has been a viral hit. She lives in Los Angeles with her muse: her rescued, blue-eyed boston terrier, Boogie.

    Just ‘Simply’ the Best!

Posted by Steph Duchesne on 9th Oct 2023

There is no other book that I more frequently recommend to both clients at the training facility I work at and fosters and adopters through the rescue I volunteer with- ESPECIALLY those with small children! Lili Chin’s drawings are inviting and fun to flip through, but precise in their details, with a special attention paid to representing a variety of breeds/body styles. The write ups are brief & easy enough to understand for even the littles in the family. This book is a must have not only for trainers, but all pet dog owners as a guide to better understand their furry companions.

    Doggie Language by Lili Chin

Posted by Mollie on 3rd May 2021

AMAZING BOOK! This is an easy-to-read intro to dog body language. Many dog owners in my life want to learn more about their furry pal but reading a chapter book on it just isn't going to happen. Two different friends of mine sat down after I handed Doggie Language to them and read it immediately. They devoured it and loved it! I also sent this as a gift to my mom who wants to better understand her Coonhound but won't get through a chapter book. She read this one though! This is an excellent intro and the drawings are SO cute!

My 20’s daughter just rescued an older dog, her first dog on her own. The illustrations in this little gem are helping her understand her new little guy.. so clear and easy to understand!
