    Slowly but surely, step by step

    I like the fact that the author uses markers to teach the dog to pay attention to the handler. HOWEVER, this has been used for quite awhile to teach the dog to pay attention. I wish that had been mentioned when teaching the PAY ATTENTION TO ME sound. This is simply classical conditioning at its finest. This involves doing the first part of the exercise over & over & over, 500 to 1000 times to begin with, The beauty of this exercise, which was not mentioned, is that once you train your dog to pay attention to you, you can teach him ANYTHING. I also disagree with the author’s opinion on tools, specifically the harness & the prong. The harness, unless the dog has had extensive beginners training, is often used to build drive, the prong just WORKS for some dogs, I suggest finding a behaviorist & an experienced trainer,
