When recalling a dog, we are competing with their impulse to respond to more reinforcing environmental distractions. When cueing a dog to stay in place, we are competing with their impulse to follow us or to wander off toward more reinforcing distractions in the environment. Such a good book! Detailed training exercises with full explanations of the reasons behind the exercises. Definitely one of my favorite books.
