The Problem of Dog-Related Incidents and Encounters
Americans love dogs. Because dogs are so much a part of our society, police and other first responders can reasonably expect to encounter unfamiliar dogs in the course of their duties. This guide, written specifically for first responders, discusses the tools, practices and procedures that will help them respond effectively when they do encounter a dog. Its primary goals are the safety of officers, the public, and the dogs.
